CueSport College was recognized in 1994 by the Billiard Congress of America as a premier teaching institution for professional instruction of all cueists and students in pool and billiards; and the evaluation, upgrading, training and approving of all BCA Instructors and Academies world-wide, as directed and administrated by BCA's First Master Instructor Fredric Fechter.
Instructor Training & Certification Guidelines

BCA
Recognized Instructor
This is the certified entry level for all
Instructor Candidates. This level gives recognition that an
instructor possesses a basic knowledge of the sport and basic
training skills in working with novice and intermediate players.
A thorough knowledge of BCA Rules must be developed at this
level. Eligibility for advancement comes only after at least
two full years as a BCA Recognized Instructor.
Practical Test: A Recognized Instructor
Candidate must train under the supervision of an Advanced
Level Instructor or Master Level Instructor and pass a written
and proficiency examination.
Cost: All qualifying
BCA Recognized Instructor Candidates are required to enroll and attend a minimum three (3)
day testing course. The course cost will be a minimum of $750.00 payable in advance
to the BCA Master or Advanced Instructor administering the course.
Must attend and pay cost of re-certification seminar every 3 years conducted by the BCA Instructor Committee to retain present BCA instructor certification.
Annual Fees: $35.00 BCA Recognized Level
Annual Instructor Academy Dues: $500.00
BCA Certified
Instructor
Past Activity: Extensive experience of
two years minimum as a BCA Recognized Instructor. A minimum
of 18 student feedback forms must be in file on behalf of
the instructor during the previous 12 months. Candidate then
must attend and meet the requirements of a three day BCA Instructors
Training Course at a BCA accredited Master Academy.
Written Test: All Master Academies will
require written examinations, both before and during testing
and evaluation.
Practical Test: While under the supervision
of a Master Instructor, the candidate must give a full four
(4) hour beginner's course to at least one student who has
had no previous instruction from that candidate. A Master
Instructor must observe and the candidate must demonstrate
the ability to use and evaluate students through the use of
video equipment. Candidate must be proficient in BCA Rules.
Cost: All qualifying BCA Recognized Instructor Candidates are required to enroll and attend a minimum three (3) day testing course. The course cost will be a minimum of $750.00 payable in advance to the BCA Master Instructor administering the course.

BCA Advanced Instructor
Past Activity: Candidate must be a Certified
Instructor for a minimum of two years. The candidate must
have assisted a Master Instructor with an Instructor Testing/Training
Course. Same student feedback form requirements as Certified
Level. Involvement with BCA programs is required, such as
the BEF and Junior Pool Players, where practical.
Written Test: All Master Academies will
require written examinations, both before and during testing
and evaluation of your choice.
Practical Test: While under the supervision
of a Master Instructor, the candidate must demonstrate the
ability to teach advanced players strategy and techniques
and to recognize and correct deficiencies in advanced and
intermediate players skills. The BCA Certified Instructor Committee will review the written recommendations from at
least one Master Instructor and the Program Administrator
and determine if an upgrade to Advanced Level is warranted.
Cost: All qualifying BCA Recognized Instructor Candidates are required to enroll and attend a minimum three (3) day testing course. The course cost will be a minimum of $750.00 payable in advance to the BCA Master Instructor administering the course.

Level
Annual Instructor Academy Dues: $500.00
BCA Master Instructor
Past Activity: The candidate must be an Advanced Level Instructor for not less than two years. The candidate must have attended and assisted at least three Master Instructors on separate occasions with instructor training courses. The candidate must have significant additional experience and involvement with BCA Programs, such as administering a BCA accredited Academy, serving as a BCA Certified Referee or League Official, participation in BCA workshops or committees, writing instructional articles or books, etc..
Practical Test: The candidate must attend and assist
with the training of at least three (3) BCA Certified or Advanced
Certified Instructor Candidates, including lectures on teaching
methods, giving written evaluations of the Candidate Instructors
abilities. Must develop, prepare, and demonstrate the use
of teaching aids. Candidate must enroll, attend, assist, be evaluated and recommended by not less than three BCA Master Academies. Master recommendations
will be forwarded to the BCA Program Administrator and then
to the Certification Instructor Committee for final approval
of certification to this level.
